It has been such a fun week. Cameron and I watched the inauguration complete with Root Beer and Popcorn - Not on our healthy food plan :)! But it certainly made it memorable.

I have experienced such joy and renewal of spirit in this election and the inauguration of President Obama. At no time in my life have I been more certain that the man we elected is the right man for the job. What a wonderful moment in history! In this time of crisis for our nation a man of this caliber rises to the challenge and possesses the unique skills and personal characteristics to tackle the problems and inspire the people.

But what amazed me most this week was the renewal and spirit of enthusiasm I saw in my son. At the age of ten, how much the renewal of spirit does one need? Certainly, he has been swept up in the tremendous events of the past year and is expecting a lot from our new president. But the remarkable thing is that he is expecting more of himself as well.

Last night, we had an amazing coveration about what he could do to change his community. He really listened to the inauguration speech and wants to do his part. He wanted to know where he could help.

Until, we can find projects that are age appropriate for community service, he will focus his energy on the enviroment. He is an active environmentalist and is the enviromental "Captain" of our house. He is in charge of energy conseravation and recycling. But now he wants to find away to take his passions to help to the community.
